PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Senior member of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Iqbal Zafar Jhagra was sworn in as the 29th Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during a ceremony held at the Governor’s House in Peshawar on Friday, reported Dunya News.

Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel took the oath from Jhagra. Chief Minister (CM) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pevez Khattak, former governor Sardar Mehtab Abbasi along with various provincial ministers and leaders of political parties were present at the event.

Jhagra will serve as the 29th governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Prior to occupying this designation, he has served as a senator. He recently relinquished from his post as a member of the Senate after being nominated as governor.

Security was kept tight during the entire event. Khyber road was blocked from one side whereas many party members were not allowed to attend the ceremony despite having the entrance cards with them which made the upset workers to protest outside the governor house.
