ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has directed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) cabinet to reverse recommended amendments in accountability law, Dunya News reported Monday.

Accountability commission’s chief had resigned earlier for reservations over the proposed amendments after which Khan had formed a committee to review the legislation.

Khan has instructed the cabinet today to seek approval of a comprehensive proposal in the matter from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly. The committee has directed the cabinet to form a draft of the amendment bill.

It was also decided by the committee that it will review matter of appointment of new Director General (DG) of the commission.

PTI chief stated about development in the matter today on a social media platform.

Khan further stated that PTI government would never compromise on its promise regarding accountability. PTI leader vowed to ensure expedition of drafting of the amendment bill.

The changes were brought by Chief Minister (CM) Pervez Khattak through an ordinance. However, on recommendation of party s vice-chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi, a party was formed to look in the matter.
