Karachi: Several citizens robbed despite crackdown against crime

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Several citizens including Dunya News’ Assignment Editor was robbed late Saturday night from various areas of the city despite the ongoing crackdown against crime in the Provincial Capital.

According to the details, gangs of dacoits kept looting citizens near Lal Kohti Shaharah-e-Faisal area. Many citizens including Dunya News’ Assignment Editor Khalid Zaman were robbed of their mobile phones and cash while police of the Ferozabad police station remained oblivious to the ongoing looting.

Meanwhile two robbers were arrested during raid by supermarket police. Officers recovered ammunition as well from the suspects. The arrested robbers were busy in looting shops and citizens in the area.

On the other hand an individual was injured in a firing incident near Baldia Town Number 7 area.

Two cars collided in Maripur area which left 6 injured while 3people including 2 children were injured when a car rolled over near Baloch Colony. 

2 more were injured in a traffic accident in Johar More area of Gulistan-e-Johar.

Meanhwhile, a dacoit nabbed by citizens while looting in Darkashan area of Karachi turned to be the son of a Medical Legal Officer (MLO) of Abbasi Shaheed hospital. Citizens thrashed the robber and then handed him over to the police.

According to the police, the culprit’s mother is also a doctor in a private hospital.
