The troika comprising President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Kayani held a key meeting at the Presidency. Sources said that the troika vowed to defend democracy and implement the decisions of the Supreme Court in letter and spirit. Presidential spokesman Farhatullah Babar said that it was decided in the meeting to resolve all the issues in accordance with the Constitution. He said the meeting reviewed ongoing war against terrorism, and rehabilitation and rebuilding process after devastating floods.
