Summary Terrorist organizations in country give impressions of being IS franchises, says Interior minster
TAXILA (Dunya News) – Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that he never stated anything about the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria’s (ISIS) presence in Pakistan, adding that terrorist organizations present in the country operate whilst giving an impression of being ISIS franchises, reported Dunya News.
Addressing a press conference, Nisar said that he repeatedly clarified that ISIS is a Middle East based terrorist organization that has made its influence reach out to Northern Africa but it has no roots in Pakistan. The terrorists (in Pakistan) give the idea of working as ISIS franchise. The Islamic State is fighting for a lost cause against the world powers.’
Nisar said that ISIS is a disgrace to Islam and expressed his disappointment with the media’s attitude stating that whenever anything (allegedly) associated with IS gets surfaced, propaganda about the terrorist organization’s presence in the country spreads like wildfire.
He said that an extremist group by the name of Hizb-e-Islami has been curtailed in Sindh and that the terrorist organizations around the country claim responsibility for every minor intimidating incident only to add it to their profile.
Bashing his political rivals, Nisar said that his adversaries have a good idea to whom he refers whilst talking about initiating investigation cases and expressed his uncertainty as to why Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) continues targeting him.
While talking about the Pathankot incident, he said that a special investigation team led by Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be dispatched to India within a day’s time and the findings of the team shall be shared with the media.
Nisar stated that the army chief has the unconditional support of the government. Sharing his thoughts about the Maulana Abdul Aziz case, he said that discussion regarding Aziz was being carried out in the Senate and he will make a statement about him soon; however, if substantial evidence is found against him, he shall be curtailed.
Nisar said that he was victimized through rhetoric by PPP leaders Khurshid Shah and Aitzaz Ahsan during the sit-in days; he refrained from replying to them only because Prime Minister forbade him from doing so and that if Aitzaz did have anything against him then he should refer to the courts in order to tell the right from the wrong.
