Summary Waseem Akhtar says MQM protesting for authority now after winning the local body elections
KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Monday protested for the reduction in fares and also criticised the excess bills of electricity and gas. Mayor-elect of Karachi Waseem Akhtar said that MQM is now fighting for the rights of the local body governments after winning the elections, reported Dunya News.
The protesters asked Chief Justice of Pakistan and Chief of Army Staff to play their roles to get the local body representatives their rights.
The party protested in Korangi for reduction in public transport fares in view of the reduced petroleum prices in the international market. Waseem Akhtar said on this occasion that Sindh government ruined all the institutions. “Larkana, Jacobabad and Dadu look like ruins”, said Akhtar.
