KARACHI (Dunya News) – Condemn resolution against killings of two workers of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has been passed by the Sindh Assembly after arguments, Dunya News reported Wednesday.

Members of the provincial assembly attended the session with black ribbons tied to their arms.

The session offered fateha for the deceased persons and prayed for the well being of injured. The condemn resolution was moved by Education Minister Nisar Khuhro which received opposition from Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) members.

The arguing members said that they had filed a resolution last night and should be permitted to present that. MQM among opposition parties got up from their seats and protested against the government.

However, the resolution was passed with consent after ruckus in the assembly.

The resolution demands establishment of a judicial commission to probe the incident. On the other hand, PIA employees held a candlelight vigil to remember their colleagues who lost their lives on Tuesday.

Separately, funeral prayers in absentia were offered in Multan, Faisalabad, Peshawar and other cities.

On February 1, PIA employees had marched towards Jinnah terminal from the head office as protest against government’s decision to privatize the company. Ranger and police personnel countered the movement as per orders of the higher-ups.

However, firing incident claimed two lives in the clash. Rangers and police both departments have stated that their personnel did not open fire.
