PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – The Municipal Inter-College for Girls in Peshawar was on Wednesday evacuated after bomb threat and entrance of suspect in the institute.

According to details, the college administration summoned security forces following a bomb rumour and gave holiday to the students. The police personnel while arriving at the scene cordoned off the entire area and launched a search operation.

District Nazim Muhammad Asim Khan also visited the college.

Meanwhile, the rumor panicked parents of students who gathered outside the college.

Muhammad Asim Khan after completing the search operation declared the entire area as ‘clear’ and assured that the information was forged or a rumor, however, the officers have been ordered to remain attentive.

The law and order situation in the metropolis was geared up after Bacha Khan University carnage in which at least four armed terrorists stormed the university, killing 23 people on January 20, 2016.

The security agencies were directed to hold raids for the detention of militants.

Earlier on December 16 in 2014, at least 132 students and nine teachers were killed in the assault with around the same number injured. Following a military rescue operation, the siege ended around eight hours after it began with all six militants killed.

Terrorists broke open the doors, took to the stage and opened indiscriminate fire, creating fear among the students and faculty members.
