Mullah Fazlullah dead in drone strike: Unconfirmed reports

5 people died in an attack on Mullah Fazlullah's house, Fazlullah's son, wife also among the dead

LAHORE: (Dunya News, Web Desk) – Outlawed outfit Tahreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) head Mullah Fazlullah has on Monday died in a drone strike according to the unconfirmed reports. The drone strike was carried out at Fazlullah’s home in Afghanistan and his son and wife were also among the dead.

According to unconfirmed reports, a drone strike was conducted on Mullah Fazlullah’s house. 5 people were killed including a woman and Fazlullah’s son. The reports are however unconfirmed and no official confirmation has yet been received.

Talking to Kamran Khan on Dunya Kamran Khan Kay Saath, senior journalist on Afghan matters Rahimullah Yousufzai said that the report isn t confirmed. He said that the area where the drone attack has been conducted does not have a very high concentration of Taliban. He told that the area is basically a stronghold of Islamic State (IS). "Earlier we had reports that Rahimullah Yousufzai was living in Afghanistan s province of Nuristan. We don t know if he moved to Nangarhaar. However, Pakistani officials have said nothing of this sort right now as far as I know. They ll only say something after the confirmation", he said.

President Dunya News Kamran Khan said that the news of Mullah Fazlullah s death have spread in the past as well but if this news is true, it certainly is a great news.
