Summary Narrow and complex streets of these notorious places pose great difficulties for security agencies.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Karachi’s slums have turned into a safe haven for all sorts of criminals, terrorists and even some illegally residing foreigners.
The Provincial capital’s shanty towns harbour some of the most grave criminals, kidnappers and terrorist elements. These suspects easily disappear into the complicated maze of skid row after committing the heinous crimes.
Notorious areas such as Karachi Super Highway, Sohrab Goth, Manghopir, Kunwari Colony, Baldia Town, Mawach Goth, Sarjani Town, Malir, Korangi and Landhi along with various others have become synonymous with crime.
A large population of foreigners of Afghani, Burmese, Iranian, Uzbek, Tajik and Bangladeshi nationalities have been residing illegally in these run down areas of the city.
A huge cache of ammunition and explosives are also hidden from the public view in these places.
Law enforcement agencies have been tracking down, apprehending and even exterminating criminal elements from these areas. However, the narrow and complex streets of these notorious places have caused great difficulties for the security forces as suspects flee from one slum to another, hiding from the sight of security agencies.
