Summary Different sections have criticised poor security maintenance
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Medics have continued strike on second day against firing incident in Jinnah Hospital, Dunya News reported Thursday.
Day after a man opened fire in Jinnah Hospital, Out Patient Department (OPD), emergency and surgical facilities are shut. Patients who have come from far flung areas for medical checkups and other treatments are forced to either return or wait for an indefinite period of time.
On January 13, a local entered Jinnah Hospital with a gun and opened fire injuring a patient. The incident was reportedly an act of revenge.
However, different sections have criticised poor security maintenance as a local could easily bring along a weapon without any security check.
The medics, not realizing fault on hospital’s administration’s part have continued their strike today.
Earlier in the week in Jinnah Hospital, a five-year-old child was kidnapped from the hospital who was reunited with his parents after few hours.
The police had said that Fahad went to the hospital with his mother Zuneira Iqbal. CCTV footage showed a woman abducting the child from outside the Labour Room and moving swiftly out of the hospital premises.
