ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan on Wednesday demanded investigation of attack on Pakistani consulate in Afghanistan that left 10 including 3 terrorists dead, Dunya News reported.
In a statement issued by the Foreign Office, it was stated the attack on Pakistani consulate in Afghanistan’s Jalalabad area is condemnable. It said the consulate remained safe in the attack but some staffers received glass wounds.
The FO spokesperson demanded comprehensive investigation of the incident, saying that the information extracted in the investigation must also be shared with Pakistan.
As per the spokesman, the Afghan government has been asked to ensure security of the diplomatic staff in Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, Afghan president Ashraf Ghani, Foreign Minister and Interim Defence Minister phoned the Incharge of the Pakistan embassy to condole over the incident and assured a full investigation of the incident.
The Afghan president said that those responsible for attack will be brought to justice.
Jalalabad’s governor Attaullah Khugiani’s spokesperson said Pakistan’s consulate is safe while the area has been cleared after killing the terrorists.
As per the Afghan officials, as many as three terrorists hid themselves at house in front of the consulate and kept firing following the attack.
As per the foreign media, a suicide blast took place outside the consulate first and then terrorists started firing. No terrorist outfit has claimed responsibility of the attack yet.
