Islamabad motorway closed as dense fog blankets parts of country

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Dense fog on Wednesday has engulfed various parts of country including Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

Islamabad motorway was closed for every kind of traffic due to the fog while flight operation at Benazir International airport also got badly affected. The visibility has reduced to five meters due to which the motorway police moved the passengers to alternative routes.



The security personnel have advised the drivers to drive safely on motorway M2.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), different areas of Punjab will continue to face fog for some days whereas visibility has decreased to 100 meters in Bhawalpur, Bhawalnagar and Okara. Cold and dry weather predicted in several cities of the country while the fog will continue to blanket the upper and plain areas of Punjab.
