KASUR (Dunya News) – Anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday has reserved verdict on bail pleas of three culprits in Kasur child abuse scandal.

The ATC heard arguments of both the sides and reserved verdict on petitions seeking bails.

Counsel for the accused stated that no reliable evidences or witnesses were found against his clients, Arshad, Ishfaq and Ibrahim.

He also said that police nominated his clients owing to pressure built by media. Police could not put forth any proof during investigation, he added. On the other hand, government prosecutor said that a video was seized from the accused possession and should not be bailed.

However, the court reserved verdict in the case after hearing arguments from both the parties.

Earlier on January 11, police had filed challan in the ATC in Kasur video scandal case.

Dunya News obtained the copy of challan in which the police had mentioned that the main suspect Tanzeelur Rehman, Atique-ur-Rehman and Akhtar Shirazi were not guilty of rape or extortion. The Punjab Police have given clean chit to the accused.

The challan stated that the suspects only proved to be threatening people. The submitted FIRs’ numbers were 190, 191, 192 and 201.

In August 2015, a group was nabbed in Kasur for alleged child abuse and possession of video record of their ill acts. The blackmailers reportedly used to earn handsomely from their victims.

At least ten persons were detained by law enforcers after the case got all ears and eyes of the nation.
