LAHORE (Dunya News) – The visually impaired persons on Monday staged protest at Metrobus track near Kalma Chowk area in Lahore, causing severe traffic jam for hours, Dunya News reported.

According to details, the visually impaired persons staged a sit-in protest at Kalma Chowk area that suspended the Metrobus service while also affecting adjacent roads.

The demonstrators protested against the Punjab government and chanted loud slogans. They demanded employment opportunities and called for end of discrimination against the visually impaired persons.

They demanded contractual employees to be given permanent jobs and fulfilment of 3% quota promise.

The protest caused severe traffic jam at Canal Road, Ferozpur Road, and other adjacent areas. Vehicles remained stuck for hours causing inconvenience.

Meanwhile, the students protested against a local university at Canal Road for degree accreditation issues which also halted the traffic for hours.
