Summary Traders protested against TMA by burning tyres on roads that blocked many busy roads
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Tehsil Municipal Administration carried out an operation against encroachments in Rawalpindi on Saturday that ended in a brawl between TMA workers and traders of the area, reported Dunya News.
According to the details, TMA teams carried out an operation against encroachments in Raja bazaar, Iqbal Road, Gawalmandi Chowk, Fawara Chowk and Masjid Road using heavy machinery. Traders of the mentioned markets tried to stop TMA staff and both of the parties ended in a brawl. Traders protested against TMA by burning tyres on roads that blocked many busy roads. In another effort against encroachments on Pothohar Road, TMA workers became hostages of encroachments mafia. Police reached the scene and freed the TMA staff.

Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) anti-encroachment operation got flak from traders resulting in a violent clash in Sector G10.
Window panes of several vehicles were broken as traders stoned the CDA machinery.
CDA initiated operation by removing goods placed outside shops. On the other hand, traders launched protest against the operation. Police and protesters clashed and manhandled one another.
CDA’s trucks and other vehicles got their window panes broken. However, a heavy contingent of police was called to control the situation. The violent clash resulted in postponement of the anti-encroachment operation.
According to the traders, operation was launched without any prior notice.
