Pakistan Thursday condemned plans of a Pastor for burning two hundred copies of Holy Quran on the eve of anniversary of 9/11. Foreign Office Spokesman Abdul Basit in his weekly briefing said the government and people of Pakistan including Christian community have condemned this outrage and urged the international community to discourage this fanatic approach and take steps to stop these fundamentalists. He said the government of Pakistan is in touch with the OIC to formulate joint response and strategy in this regard. Replying to a question about drone attacks, he said Pakistan has always opposed them and considered these attacks as counter productive. He said Pakistan has expressed its concerns before the United States in this regard. He said, These attacks are not helping our efforts to win hearts and minds of the people. Answering a question, he said, Pakistan welcomes Afghan governments initiative of reconciliation and reintegration with Taliban that is according to the London conference and recently held Kabul conference. He said, Pakistan also intends normalization of relations with India and enjoys cordial relations with Afghanistan.
