Imran Farooq murder: ATC remands accused in FIA's custody for another 14 days
Three accused in the case are namely, Moazam Ali, Khalid Shameem and Mohsin Ali
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Court on Monday has reserved verdict on Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) plea seeking extension of physical remand of accused in Imran Farooq murder case.
The accused were presented before Duty Magistrate Syed Haider Shah’s court on December 6 where they were remanded in FIA’s custody. On December 28, sessions court had extended seven days physical remand of the accused in Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Dr Imran Farooq murder case.
During the earlier hearing, the FIA had claimed that the alleged culprits have made confessions and the agency would be needing extension in remand to widen the scope of investigation.
Three accused in the case are namely, Moazam Ali, Khalid Shameem and Mohsin Ali.

The court had granted a seven-day extension ordering the law enforcers to present the alleged murderers on January 4.
The developments are coming in the matter after a case was launched against MQM’s chief Altaf Hussain and party members. Pakistan has approached British authorities in the case for access to the accused, Altaf.
The MQM leader is residing in London in exile. Pakistan’s agency has also lodged a formal request to review testimony of Dr Imran Farooq’s widow.
