Summary Sindh govt officials' response was perceived as outrageous by many opposition leaders

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The opposition parties have slammed Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) for apathy over death of 10-month-old Bisma, Dunya News reported.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Ismail and Faisal Wada went to visit the child’s family, Nabeel Gabol demanded apology from PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto while Jamaat Islami (JI), Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Functional League termed the incident unfortunate.

According to details, PTI leaders went to visit Bisma’s family to condole. They said while talking to the media that the rulers should sit at homes if they fear for their security.

Jamaat chief Sirajul Haq said Sindh government should clear its position if the cause of girl’s death is the VIP protocol.

Former Minister Nabeel Gabol told Bilawal to apologize to girl’s parents. MQM leader Muhammad Hussain said the English have left this continent but the ‘black English’ are still ruling the country and consider people as insects. MQM has also announced to bring condemnation motion in the Sindh Assembly.

Functional League’s Sheheryar Meher said Bilawal shouldn’t get out of house if he fears for his life.

When asked Imran Khan, he didn’t give any clear answer other than comparing situation with that in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said ministers in KP don’t take VIP protocols.

Afterwards, he termed the incident as unforgivable.

Nisar Khuhro says nothing’s more precious than Bilawal’s security

In a statement largely being perceived as outrageous by the opposition parties, senior Sindh minister Nisar Khuhro said nothing is more precious to him than his party chairman Bilawal Bhutto.

Reacting to the death of Lyari’s infant girl Bisma, Khuhro said he sympathizes if anyone has died but the “most precious life is Bilawal’s”.

He went on to say that Chief Minister was also coming which is why his security is also important.

Other leaders of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) were seen giving objectionable statements. Sindh Minister for Health Jam Mehtab said death is in hands of God and that this was a ‘matter of routine’.

Meanwhile, the statement issued from the Bilawal House blames media for it. The spokesperson said Bisma did not die because of Bilawal’s VIP protocol, adding that the convoy did not even go though the route of the Civil Hospital.

The statement said the media is venting out its anger.
