Enraged locals take to streets against gas outage in various cities

The gas-stricken locals burned tyres and chanted slogans against the government.

RAWALPINDI/MULTAN (Dunya News) – The residents in various cities of the country on Tuesday staged a protest against prolonged gas load shedding in winter season.

The people took to the streets in Rawalpindi’s Dhamial, Ahmadabad and Quaid-e-Azam Colony to record their demonstration against the government for not ensuring basic facilities. They said that they have been facing gas outage for so long which has badly disrupted their daily routines.

The enraged natives including the supporters of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) blocked the roads and chanted slogans against the government however, the situation intensified as police personnel tried to disperse the protesters.

Separately in Multan, the gas-stricken locals burned tyres at Khooni Burj Chowk and staged a sit-in. They lashed out at Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) officials and warned of not paying gas bills if government fails to address their reservations.

On the other hand, the restaurants are also forced to use wood for making food as the people rushed to different eating places due to gas dearth.
