ISLAMABAAD (Web Desk) – The Ministry of Interior on Friday informed the Senate that at least 637 terrorists were killed and 710 arrested this year under the National Action Plan (NAP), Dunya News reported.

In a written reply submitted in the Senate, the Ministry stated that 373 terrorists were killed in the Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA), 98 in Balochistan, 55 in Punjab, 36 in Sindh, one each terrorist was killed in Islamabad and Gilgit-Baltistan this year.

The Senate was also informed that Al-Qaeda, Balochistan Republican Army, Lashkar-e-Balochistan, Daesh (ISIS), Tehreek-e-Jaffaria Pakistan, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Sipah Muhammad Pakistan, Jaish Muhammad and Sipah Sahaba Pakistan have been included in the list of banned organizations.

Tehreek Nafaz-e-Shariat Muhammadi, Tehreek-e-Islami Pakistan and Shia Talaba Action Committee are also among the 61 banned organizations. Jamaat-ud-Dawa has been included in the watch list as well.

The Senate was informed that a number of steps have been taken by Frontier Corps Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan to check infiltration of terrorists from Afghanistan into Pakistan.

Minister of State for Interior Muhammad Balighur Rehman told the House during question hour that Frequent Combat patrolling is carried out along the Pak-Afghan border.

He pointed out that construction of 453 kilometers of obstacles like anti-smuggling ditch to stop human and vehicle movement has been carried out.

He told that communication posts have been installed on important communication links to check illegal immigrants and miscreants.

The minister said integrated transit trade management system is being installed to check smuggling
