LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate from NA-122 Lahore on Sunday said National Assembly Speaker’s presser is result of frustration and admission of rigging, Dunya News reported.

Khan, who lost the by-election to NA Speaker, said that party chief Imran Khan is fighting the case of Election Commission’s ‘incompetence’ whereas, he said, Ayaz Sadiq is resorting to open threats instead of ‘facing the reality’.

Reacting to Sadiq’s presser, Aleem Khan said that NA-122’s verdict will again be in favour of PTI. “It appears from Ayaz Sadiq’s ‘crying’ that he is scared of PTI’s ‘hattrick’.

He further said that PTI’s stance was correct earlier as well and that it will be proven right the third time.

Aleem Khan alleged that Ayaz Sadiq colluded with Election Commission and National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to transfer NA-122 voters out of the constituency.

Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq on Sunday said that sending case to the Election Tribunal without hearing their side is Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) ‘incapability and dishonesty’.

Talking to the media in Lahore, the Speaker said the ECP understands the language of threats and not love, adding that he wouldn’t be using such a language had the ECP “any understanding of justice”.

He said PTI wants to use the backdoor and the ECP facilitated it, adding that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders didn’t deem it appropriate to involve his lawyer.

“Sending the case to Election Tribunal without hearing us is ECP’s incapability and dishonesty”, he said. “I wasn’t made aware if there was any petition, what should I call this if not dishonesty?”

Sadiq said he would consider going in front of the ECP on December 22.

It merits mentioning here that the Election Tribunal has sent notices to Ayaz Sadiq for December 22 over election irregularities and rigging allegations in NA-122 by-election.

Election Tribunal’s head Rashid Qamar has started hearing PTI leader Abdul Aleem Khan’s petition over the by-election. The petition pleads nullification of the result while leveling the allegations of rigging.

Reportedly, Khan had filed a petition in the ECP which was sent by the commission to the election tribunal for processing.

The petition alleges that rigging took place in the NA-122 by-election, adding that over 30 thousand votes were transferred in and out of the constituency. It says the ECP only has the record of 7000 transfers of votes.
