The former District Police Officer Sialkot Waqar Chauhan and five other police officials have been arrested on Tuesday in connection to the Sialkot lynching case. District Police Officer Sialkot Waqar Chauhan would be presented before the court on September 1. The accused policemen have been charged under section 102 instead of the conventional 302. Meanwhile, written statements of familiy members have been submitted to Joint Investigation Team. Dead bodies were insulted in the presence of DPO Chauhan while police officials provided safety to the culprits who were beating the two brothers. Earlier, the head of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) of Sialkot lynching of two brothers, DIG Mushtaq Sakhera completed the investigation. He told that seventeen out of eighteen culprits have been apprehended by authorities. He added that the investigation team found involvement of ten policemen in the incident.Sukhera said that four policemen have been declared absconders; the remaining six have surrendered. He said the statements of the arrested policemen have been recorded. He said that all those involved will be punished.
