Peshawar Islamia College students protest as university gates closed due to PM's visit
The protesters raised 'Go Nawaz Go' slogans
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Islamia College students on Friday have demonstrated protest as police closed university gates ahead of Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’ arrival.
PM Nawaz has participated in the centenary celebrations of Islamia College today. Law enforcers maintained a tight security in the city for Prime Minister’s visit.
Gates of the university were closed down for all kinds of traffic and pedestrians. Heavy traffic was instructed to use Ring Road while Jamrud Road was shut.
The university students protested against the tight security arrangements owing to which they could not enter their university. The protesters raised ‘Go Nawaz Go’ slogans. However, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police resorted to baton-charge to disperse the protesters.
