KARACHI (Dunya News) – Local body (LB) elections will be held in Karachi on Saturday, 5th of December in the third phase of LB polls. 274 polling stations have been declared highly sensitive while 306 have been declared sensitive, reported Dunya News.

Local body elections will be held in 6 districts of Karachi, that are West Karachi, South Karachi, East Karachi, Korangi, Central Karachi and Malir, on December 5. The mayor of the big metropolitan city will be decided tomorrow. Polling will be held from 7:30am to 5:30pm on Firday.

In Korangi, 274 polling stations have been declared highly sensitive while 306 have been declared sensitive. The security during the elections will be supervised by police and Rangers, as well as Pakistan army teams. Pak army officials have taken over their duties as quick response team.

Will the history repeat itself? Will MQM bring its mayor yet again or will the alliance between PTI and JI be able to stage an upset with its slogan of change? Who will be judged as the victor by the people of Karachi? Wait will be over in just 1 day.

Polling for the third and final phase of local body elections in twelve districts of Punjab and six in Sindh is being held tomorrow.

The polling will begin at 7:30 am and will continue till 5:30 pm without any break.

The election will be conducted in 12 districts of Punjab which include Layyah, Rajanpur, D.G. Khan, Muzaffargarh, Rawalpindi, Jhang, Khushab, Multan, Sialkot, Narowal, Rahim Yar Khan and Bahawalpur.

Elections have been delayed in 16 union councils of Rawalpindi due to court interventions,

In Sindh, LB polls will be held in Karachi West, Karachi East, Karachi South, Karachi Central, Korangi and Malir.

The Election Commission has made all the arrangements to hold elections in a fair and transparent manner. The Commission has also established a control room in Islamabad which will work till the finalisation of results.

The Control Room will receive complaints regarding irregularities in the polling process and will take action for their redressal.

Meanwhile, elaborate security arrangements have been made to maintain law and order and avoid any untoward incident.
