He hoped for Commonwealth's support in ending the polio endemic from Pakistan
VALLETTA (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday said Pakistan not only condemns every kind of terrorism in the world but is also fully cooperating with the international community to deal with violent extremism, Dunya News reported.
According to details, the Commonwealth Summit in Malta concluded with heads of 53 states strongly condemning all kinds of terrorism. The summit discussed various issues including terrorism.
PM Nawaz while addressing the summit said Pakistan is completely following the conditions of the United Nations Security Council. He said Pakistan has sacrificed over 50 thousand people to the fight against terrorism.
The Prime Minister told that an operation Zarb-e-Azb against terrorism was started 2 years ago which has left the terrorists paralyzed.
Emphasizing the need of international level strategy to deal with terrorism, PM Nawaz said Pakistan praises the efforts made on international level to deal with the outfits like ISIS.
Addressing the anti-polio session, PM Nawaz said Pakistan has taken several steps to save the future generations from polio. He said Pakistan is running a full campaign including creating awareness among the parents, adding that members of civil society, media and religious leaders are also included in the campaign.
Nawaz Sharif said a network of anti-polio health workers has been formed. He said security is being provided to the health workers that administer the polio vaccine among the children, adding that their goal is not to miss any child from the vaccination drive.
He hoped for Commonwealth’s support in ending the polio endemic from Pakistan.
