PML-N candidate Haji Ghulam Raza has won his seat in local body elections for PP-13 Rawalpindi. Raza got 12,969 votes, followed by PML-Q candidate Adnan Chaudhry who had 2,901votes. Meanwhile, independent candidates Ishtiaq Mirza and Raja Shahid got 3,990 and 3,321 votes respectively. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) set up 108 polling stations including 52 for women and 56 for men. Polling was started at 8am while it concluded at 5 pm. A total of 11 candidates including Abid Pervez Mughal of Awami Muslim League (AML) were contesting for the seat. An independent candidate, Raja Shahid (Pappu) claimed enjoying the support of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). The PP-13 seat fell vacant when the Supreme Court disqualified PML-N MPA Yasir Raza for holding fake degree and ordered re-election in the constituency.
