Justice Javed Iqbal lamented that objective resolution has never been made base of the Constitution. A 17-member bench under the head of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry resumed the hearing of cases against 18th amendment. Objective resolution is more than just a document, Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry remarked. Justice Javed Iqbal remarked that it seemed as if consensus is hard to reach at objective resolution, for which Liaquat Ali Khan and Sardar Abdul Rub Nishtar said that it is just a piece of rules. Justice Javed Iqbal maintained that the court could scrap any constitutional amendment in the light of Objective Resolution as the supremacy of parliament could also be challenged. Punjab Advocate General Khawaja Harris said that the court has defined the basic features of the constitution with respect to the Objective Resolution.
