Ch Nisar chairs meeting in Islamabad, reviews key matters

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar on Monday has chaired an important session in Islamabad to review the key matters.

During the meeting, attendees discussed the issue of international Non-Governmental Organizations  (NGOs) registration. The minister earlier said that the NGOs will not be allowed to collect funds without government’s approval and their registration will only be done through online system now.

Nisar said that the policy was not aimed at banning anyone. He said that the government will facilitate those working for the betterment of Pakistan.

The participants also debated on the inclusion and exclusion of Pakistanis’ names in Exit Control List (ECL) while the deployment of staff in foreign countries for machine-readable passports was also taken under consideration.

The officials of interior ministry also briefed the members over the performances of their departments and ongoing projects.

Earlier, the Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar on Sunday said that human trafficking is the second largest cause of maligning of Pakistan abroad after terrorism.

Nisar said this menace has to be rooted out in any case. He said Pakistani expatriates are an asset to the country.

The federal minister directed the FIA to formulate a comprehensive policy to help Pakistanis abroad if they’re subjected to any illegal treatment abroad.

Directing the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to prepare a strategy against human smugglers in 48 hours, Ch Nisar summoned a meeting on Tuesday.
