KARACHI (Dunya News) – 6 members of a banned organization were killed and 2 police personnel were injured during a police encounter in Mangopir area on Thursday, reported Dunya News.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided a hideout near water filter plant located near Mangopir. The terrorists opened fire on policemen as the latter approached hideout, injuring 2 policemen. Police opened fire in retaliation killing 6 terrorists.
According to SSP Rao Anwar, 2 terrorists have been identified as Abdullah and Haider whereas the terrorists used to gather near water filtration plant to plan. The SSP further added that the terrorists had held a hostage in the past while demanding Rs 3 million in exchange for his safe return whereas one of the terrorist used to gather money for Tehreek-e-Taliban.
SSP Rao Anwar further said that large amount of munitions has been confiscated from the terrorists’ hideout.
