ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The annual Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) elections will be held today (Thursday). A close contest is expected between the candidates fielded by Asma Jahangir group and Hamid Khan group in the election.
Asma Jahangir group has nominated Barrister Syed Ali Zafar for the post of president against Pir Kaleem Khurshid of Hamid Khan group. Aftab Bajwa from Asma Jhangeer group and Asad Manzoor Butt from Hamid Khan group are in the run for the post of secretary.
It is pertinent to mention here that Asma Jahangir group has been winning the Supreme Court Bar Association presidential election for the past five years.
The polling to elect new members will start at 8:30am. A total number of 2,697 voters will use their right of vote in today’s election.
