Once again girls outdid boys in BA/BSc annual examination as Punjab Colleges Zonaira Nasir bagged an overall first position, Dunya News reported on Tuesday. The pass percentage in BA, BSc annual examination 2009 remained 28.75, as 49, 393 out of the total 1,71,624 candidates were declared successful in the examination held by the Punjab University (PU). All the overall top six positions, three in BSc and three in BA, were secured by girl students while none of the boys obtained any top position in both the examinations. The three top positions in BA were bagged by the external candidates. Zonaira Nasir of the Punjab College of Women, Satellite Town Sargodha secured overall top position in BSc with 703 out of 800 marks while second position was obtained by Irum Shahzadi of Punjab College Civil Line Gujranwala and the third position by Fareeha Iqbal of National Science College as she secure 676 marks. Sana Iftikhar of Islamabad bagged first slot in BA after getting 662 marks; Shahdra Lahores Hafiza Ayesha Zafar and Waleena Sadia got second position with 655 marks, while Malakwals Irum Yasin got third position by scoring 654 marks. The pass percentage of girls is 33 percent and boys 19 percent.
