Easy way out, India alleges Pakistan of Sikh sacrilege

Summary Sikh's holy book, Guru Granth Sahib was torn and pages were scattered on street earlier

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Indian media has reported on Wednesday that intelligence agencies had warned of unrest at hands of Pakistan thus desecration of Sikh’s holy book is a foreign act.

According to NDTV, Indian intelligence had stated that Pakistani agencies could cause unrest in the country. Sikh’s protest against sacrilege has entered sixth day today. Faridkot district is seeing a complete shutdown for the past six days.

Sikh’s holy book, Guru Granth Sahib was torn and pages were scattered on street in Indian Punjab. The book was stolen from gurdwara in July.

The Indian authorities have alleged Pakistani agencies of the act in bid to cause unrest. However, it seems like the neighbouring country has found an easy way out of every problem. The easy way for India is accusing the rival since separation of the sub-continent, Pakistan.

On the other hand, Indian police have arrested two alleged culprits for the desecration. Indian Punjab police said that the alleged criminals apprehended have links with people in Australia and Dubai. The security situation in India has intensified following the sacrilege. Amritsar, Ludhiana and Jalandhar are seeing tensed air among other districts.

Separately, Sikh community in Pakistan have protested and demanded Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi’s resignation. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) MPA Sardar Suran Singh on October 20 led a protest outside press club in Peshawar.

The protesters burnt Modi’s mannequin and raised pro-Pakistan and anti-India slogans.

Earlier in Lahore, Sikhs gathered in a local gurdwara and criticised Indian government. The irked Pakistani community vowed to boycott relations with India until the culprit behind the blasphemy is apprehended.

In Baramulla of Kashmir, Sikhs took to the streets and showed support to Pakistan. They raised slogans, “Kashmir banega Pakistan, Punjab banega Khalsa.”
