Govt forms committee to address MQM's reservations

Summary Committee will submit its findings in 90 days

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal government has formed a committee to address Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) reservations regarding resignations from National Assembly on Friday. Committee will submit its findings in 90 days, reported Dunya News.

According to a notification issued by the Law Ministry, a committee has been formed to address the reservations of MQM, as per Pakistan Muslim League’s (PML-M) promise. Members of the committee, Justice (retd) Nasir Aslam Zahid, Justice (Retd) Khalil-ur-Rehman, Justice (R) Ajmal Mian, and Farogh Nasim Advocate. Federal Interior Minister shall perform duty as Secretary of the Committee as well as being member of committee.

The agreement to form a committee took place between Dr Farooq Sattar and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar. The redressal committee will begin its work in a day and will complete proceedings in 90 days. The federal government will facilitate redressal committee by providing services of secretariat.

The committee for grievance redressal will decide its own code of conduct and operational methods.
