Summary Protesting against the construction, Rasheed said govt wanted to reward corruption mafia
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mehmood ur-Rasheed has on Friday said that the real motive behind construction of a portion of Mall Road is to reward corruption mafia, reported Dunya News.
Protesting against the construction of a portion of Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader said that the motive behind uprooting this portion and reconstruction of the same is to reward the corruption mafia. Opposition Leader protested against the construction of this proportion outside Punjab Assembly along with other MPAs of PTI. The protesters continued to raise slogans against the project for several minutes.
Talking to media on this occasion, Rasheed said that there could be no motive other than rewarding the corruption mafia behind uprooting a well-constructed road and then reconstructing it.
Rasheed and his comrades said that the same amount could have been spent to provide facilities to the government schools and hospitals but Punjab government has a history of nepotism and the latest development is also part of the same policy.
The PTI leader said that he will raise his voice against this practice on every forum.
