MULTAN (Dunya News) – An International White Cane Safety Day is being observed on Tuesday in Multan to highlight the issues being faced by blind people in the metropolis.

A huge number of disabled persons staged a walk on the main roads of Multan.

The sightless persons while holding placards marched all the way towards Kumharan Wala Chowk, demanding the government to resolve their matters. They said that government has to prepare policies for the better living of handicap people so that they can also play their part in country’s development.

The visually impaired people chanted slogans in a favor of their demands and asked to increase their quota in employment. They pointed out many facilities that were established but were not used for the purpose these were set up.

It’s a foremost priority of incumbent government to ensure justice and rights to every single citizen, they added.

They urged the authorities to launch an inquiry into the affairs of the National Trust for Disabled Persons and National Braille Press to improve their quality of work.

Furthermore, the unsighted protesters requested to make amendment in traffic laws for their relief whereas they have also put forward their wish for better education system for them.
