Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Pakistan requires 500 million dollars aid at the earliest as the country is facing the biggest challenge after the 2005 earthquake. In a press briefing in Islamabad, Qureshi said that 32 lac people were affected in 2005 quake while 2-3 billion people have been affected in the current floods. He said that the affectees need food, water, shelter and medicines. He said that food, drinking water and basic amenities are being delivered at the relief camps through helicopters. He said that floods have ruined crops and different diseases are being spread due to water.
