President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday visited Sukkur barrage and monitored the flood situation. The President inspected 66 gates of the Sukkur barrage and the provincial authorities informed him about the situation due to high flood in the river. The President said that all possible steps would be taken for the rehabilitation of flood affectees and the affectees would be registered as soon as possible. President Asif Ali Zardari monitored 2 km area of Sukkur barrage on trolley. On arrival he was briefed by Shujah Junejo on the prevailing flood situation by the heads of relevant departments. He told the President 19 districts have been declared sensitive and more than 1900 villages have been badly affected. He told the President that 618 relief camps have been set up in Sindh. After the briefing, the President assured full cooperation to Sindh government. The President also had Ariel view of the flood affected areas. Earlier, President Asif Ali Zardari arrived at Sukkur airport where he was received by Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Federal Minister for Labour Syed Khurshid Shah, Senator Islamuddin Sheikh, party leaders and government officials.
