RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Army Chief General Raheel Sharif has reached Turkey for a 3-day official visit to Turkey on Monday. Wreath laying was held at Kamal Attaturk’s tomb. General Raheel Sharif said that Pakistan-Turkey relationship has survived the test of time, reported Dunya News.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Army Chief General Raheel Sharif has reached Turkey for 3-day visit. General Raheel was presented Guard of Honor by Turkish Land Forces.

Army Chief laid flower wreaths at the tomb of Turkish leader Mustafa Kamal Attaturk. General Raheel met with chief of Turkish Land Forces, General Salih Zeki Colak, and discussed matters of mutual interest including eradication of terrorism from both countries.

Both Army chiefs discussed measures to counter Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), cooperation in sharing of intelligence and in that of counter-terrorism training during the meeting.
Condolences on Ankara attack by General Sharif
The Army Chief expressed his heartfelt condolences on the Ankara attack at the occasion. General Raheel Sharif was presented with Legion of Merit by General Salih Zeki Colak for his services to regional peace and courageously handling the menace of terrorism.

It is pertinent to mention here that Turkey was rocked by twin suicide blasts on Saturday at a peace rally of leftist and pro-Kurdish activists in Ankara killing 95 people, the deadliest such attack in the country s recent history.
Earlier on, Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif on Sunday called Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressing sorrow over the suicide blasts in Ankara, Turkey and offered his deepest condolences on the tragedy.
