Summary A row has erupted between Sindh Rangers and police over publishing of anti-Rangers ads.
KARACHI (Web Desk) – Rangers authorities have raised issue of advertisements by police before the federal government and army’s chief of command.
A row between Sindh Rangers and police erupted on Tuesday when police issued advertisements in local newspapers seeking public help in tracing of at least six missing persons. The ads say that these persons were allegedly picked up by “unknown Rangers” from parts of Orangi Town.

It was revealed during Dunya Kamran Khan Kay Sath show that two alleged missing persons Tahir Ali and Ibrar Ahmed belong to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). Their names have also been mentioned in the report of UN’s human rights council, therefore, involvement of foreign elements in anti-Rangers ads cannot be ruled out.
During an interview with senior anchorperson Kamran Khan, legal expert Yasin Azad stated that one institution’s interference in the affairs of other institution could complicate the situation. He said the matter should be investigated at high-level.
On the other hand, Sindh Home Minister has suspended SP Investigation West II Latif Siddique.
Inspector General Police Sindh has already suspended the concerned DSP for issuing these advertisements and ordered inquiry into the matter.
Moreoever, the police department has strictly directed the SSP level officials not to issue ads without approval of the Additional IG.
