Supreme Court Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that no one has the dare to amended the Objectives Resolution.Heading the 17-member SC bench, Chief Justice Chaudhry said, The powers from the presidency were transferred to the Prime Minister only due to the pressure asserted by the masses.During the hearing, Additional Attorney General KK Agha a told the bench that only parliament had the powers to make or break any system. He said the court had no power to review or set aside any amendment in the constitution. He further added that all the articles in the constitution can be amended.Responding to a question, Agha said the theory of basic structure was applied only in India. He said parliament was not framing a new constitution, rather it was only making amendments. The parliament having a representation of chosen members is the only body to legislate and make amendments, Agha said.The court observed that basic principles that were written in the constitutions preamble and in the Objectives Resolution must be followed.Agha said that the public had already given its mandate to parliament by electing their representatives.
