Terrorism incidents in Peshawar reduce by 59% under NAP: police

Summary LEAs expedited action against terrorists following attack on Army Public School in Peshawar.

PESHAWAR (Web Desk) – As a part of the National Action Plan against terrorism, the law enforcement personnel have rounded up 113,000 suspects during 49,463 operations and snap checking in Peshawar during last nine months, the police reported.

More than 16,000 different types of weapons, around 233,000 bullets and 900kg explosives have been recovered during operations in various parts of the city.

More than sixty thousand education institutes were checked and cases were registered against more than eleven hundred institutes for violation Security SOPs.

According to police report, more than 14,434 illegal Afghan residents have been deported so far.

The police claim that terrorism incidents have reduced by 59%, kidnapping for ransom by 44% and extortion cases have decreased by 52%.
