Summary Witnesses in different murder cases were killed, says Justice Sarmad Jalal Usmani

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan on Friday has issued notices to Rangers, federal and Sindh governments against former federal minister Dr Asim Hussain’s transference from National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) to Rangers headquarters.

During hearing of the case, Counsel of Hussain’s wife said that the former minister has been forcefully discharged from the hospital without clearance of the medical board. Justice Sarmad Jalal Usmani remarked the reason for the shift could be security concern.

He said that witnesses in murder cases of journalist Wali Khan Babar and Sabeen Ahmed were also killed. Justice Usmani said that if Hussain is shifted back to the hospital then the family would be responsible for his security.

The SC issued notices to the federal and Sindh governments, Rangers and the hospital concerned. The hearing was adjourned until October 7.
