LAHORE (Dunya News) – Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has suspended the licenses of 2 pilots while cancelling another 2 pilots’ over violation of rules. The pilots of the national carrier protested in favour of their colleagues due to which 12 flights were delayed on Thursday, reported Dunya News.

The situation between CAA and Pakistan Airline Pilots Association (PALPA) seems to have escalated as the former cancelled the licenses of 2 pilots that were flying an aircraft from Sialkot to Riyadh. The pilots, named Rana Sohail and Iftikhar Kaleem, have been alleged to flying aircrafts 6 hours more than their stipulated limit of 10 hours.

According to the CAA spokesperson, Captain Kaleem and Captain Zahid have been suspended. Both pilots have illegally flown aircrafts, affecting the schedule of flights. CAA has asked to launch an investigation on the matter.

PALPA has asked it members to stop working in protest which has caused a massive delay in both national and international flights. Amir Hashmi, president of PALPA said that pilots operated sixteen-hour flight due to orders of administration.
