Summary Finance Ministry releases Rs. 62 million for census in country scheduled to start in March 2016

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – First installment of Rs. 62 million has on Thursday been granted by Ministry of Finance for census in the country that is scheduled to start in March 2016. This is going to be the first census in Pakistan in last 17 years, reported Dunya News.

According to Bureau of Statistics, the first installment of Rs. 62 million, out of the total 14 billion rupees, for the census has been received. Meetings are going on with the provincial chief secretaries and commissioners while the officials on district levels will be appointed in the next phase. Member Bureau of Statistics Arif Cheema told that the census will continue for 19 days, out of which 16 days will be devoted to counting of population, 3 to counting of households and 1 to counting of nomads.

The census will also include details of the population on the basis of education, employment, unemployment and special persons.
