A new spell of rains has begun in the country adding to flood affectees' miseries and hampering the relief activities in the flood-hit areas, Dunya News reported on Friday. Meanwhile, after wreaking sever havoc in Southern Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the furious flood tide is roaring towards Sindh. Thousands of people have been marooned in Kacha area while Quran Khwani was held at Ghotki embankment to avert the flood devastation.An intense flood tide is reported at Guddu Barrage as water flow is 9, 62 916 cusecs while the water flow in Sukkur Barrage 0.6million and outflow is 0.577million cusecs; inflow at Kotri Barrage is 1,53,000 cusecs and outflow 1,32000 cusecs.Flood is River Sindh would likely to inundate Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Ghotki and other areas. eanwhile, Navy Commanders area carrying out relief activities in the abovesaid areas and trying to shift 21,000 stranded persons. Floodwater inundated Jampur city completely affecting almost 0.1million people. Indus Highway has been closed for traffic due to gushing flood resulting into huge queues of vehicles. Dozens of villages submerged owing to emerging of a breach in Sum Canal at Jaffarabad area of Balochistan. Land sliding in Azad Kashmir disrupted the road traffic system while two persons swept away due to flood in Kheora. The Met Department forecast more monsoon rains for another three days.
