LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday has annulled Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) notification barring Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan from participating in NA-122 by-election campaign.
Khan has decided to start campaign for by-election in NA-122 in first week of October. He will be campaigning from October 5 to October 9.
In an exclusive talk with Dunya News, PTI’s candidate in NA-122, Aleem Khan has said that Imran would reach Lahore on October 5 after addressing rally in the federal capital on October 4. He would address different electoral seminars in the provincial capital, he added.
Earlier, Khan had criticised the government for not permitting him to participate in NA-122 by-election’s campaign. He criticized the Prime Minister (PM) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari while talking to the media in Nowshera today.
Khan said that the government has pressurized four members of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) resultantly he is not being permitted to participate in the campaign. The PTI chief has termed PM Nawaz’s relief package for farmers a ‘pre-poll rigging’ stunt.
