Minister for Information and Broadcast Syed Sumsam Bokhari has said that heavyfloods are expected in Sindh in next 24 hours. A heavy flow of water in Sukkur andGuddu Barrage can create a huge devastation.Addressing a news conference in Islamabd with Chairman NDMA Lt. Gen. (r) NadeemAhmad and DG Weather Department Dr. Qamar uz Zaman Chaudhry, SumsamBokhari said that more than 1000 people have so far died due to these floods; where asalmost a 100,000 people have also been shifted to safer places. He told that PresidentZardaris international visit was pre-planned; however he is in constant contact with thegovernment. Gen. Nadeem said that UN has initiated the relief works.
