Summary As many as three people have been killed due to heatstroke so far.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) on Saturday has directed the residents of Karachi to take precautionary measures as three people lost their lives due to heatstroke.
Chief municipal officer has advised the locals to intake maximum water and to use towel or cloth around their necks while going out.
According to details, the Met department has forecasted a 5 to 6 degrees increase in heat on September 18, 19 and 20 and temperature can go as high as 40 degrees.
The Met department says that the decrease in air pressure emerging from the Bay of Bengal will cross Pakistan. A moderate rain has also been forecasted in Sukkur, Mirpur Khas, Hyderabad and Larkana.
The decrease in humidity in air will likely to increase heat index and prompt emergency situation. Director Health Services Zafar Ejaz has said that the citizens should take precautionary measure during these three days.
Earlier, nearly 1200 people had died due to severe heatstrokes in the month of June this year.
