Badaber camp attack's case registered, vehicle owner arrested

Summary Police and intelligence agencies personnel are vetting NICs of the people in the area

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – A case of attack on Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Badaber camp on Saturday has been registered while all schools and colleges in the area have been shut for as many as ten days.

Owner of the pick-up that was used by banned organization Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan’s (TTP) militants to reach the attack site has been arrested among two persons from Sadiqabad. The registered case includes terrorism sections.

At least 14 militants have been nominated in the case. The authorities have ordered gathering of data of the people residing in the area. Police and intelligence agencies personnel are vetting national identity cards (NIC) of the people in the area.

The pick-up owner, Asif had sold the vehicle to his brother-in-law. He then sold the vehicle to a Sindh local. Sources said that the vehicle used in Badaber attack was driven from Matni.

At least 29 persons had embraced martyrdom including 16 Namazis in the recent attack while exchange of fire sent 13 militants to eternal torment.
